a letter to our community
*UPDATE*
Matrix Video Communications has offices across Canada, and has been deemed as an Essential Business under the guidelines presented by the Governments of Ontario, Alberta and B.C. We suspect that should other Provincial governments follow, and implement the closure of all non-essential businesses, Matrix will be recognized as an Essential Business in those provinces as well.
We wanted to communicate to our clients in the healthcare, energy, electricity generation, electricity transmission, transportation, police and emergency service sectors that Matrix Video Communications will be open to support you. Our facilities will be in operation during this closure as an essential service provider. Matrix Video Communications is also categorized as a Telecommunications and IT infrastructure/service provider and as such we will remain in operation to supply and install equipment required by your business and to provide support services and honor our service contracts. Many of you have already requested support over the past few weeks as you’ve had to put your Emergency Operations Centers into operation and implement remote work solutions for your workers.
During this unprecedented crisis it will not be ‘business as usual’. We have taken steps to protect our staff and the public by providing our staff with PPE and promoting social distancing. Some of our offices may be closed or operate with only essential staff while other staff will work remotely. We recognize the diligence required to contain the situation and are doing our part while attempting to keep our staff employed.
Please continue to reach out to us via phone or email for your support needs.
In this time of uncertainty, the safety and well-being of our clients, staff and communities is our top priority.
Our offices remain open and available to assist you.
Active Projects
Due to the recent announcement of the closure of schools and child care in some provinces, many of our offices will be impacted as we will operate at decreased staffing levels to accommodate our staff and their families. For active projects we will continue to schedule technicians unless instructed otherwise by the client. Due to the severity of these circumstances, project deadlines may extend beyond original deadlines.
Upcoming Projects
Many clients have already informed us of their corporate policy regarding external contractors during this crisis and as a result many projects have been postponed. Our schedulers will be reaching out to clients in an effort to schedule or in some cases postpone the start of projects.
Staying Safe and Informed
When possible, we encourage social distancing, as recommended by the Public Health Agency of Canada, and suggest that contacting us via phone, email or online is preferred during this time.
All Matrix staff who have traveled internationally are required to self-isolate for two weeks as instructed by Health Canada.
Matrix sales staff continues to be available by phone and email. We are recommending that face to face meetings be limited at this time to protect the safety of our staff and clients.
Although Health Canada has classified the risk to Canadians as low, we’re taking extra precautions to protect our clients and staff. This includes encouraging and supporting staff to stay home if they are unwell, providing regular prevention best practice updates and following all government recommendations.
We also ask that you do not visit our offices if you:
