UPDATE YOUR TECHNOLOGY - AND CREATE A
REVENUE GENERATOR TO BOOT
A University of Saskatchewan Case Study
Matrix Video Communications/MVCC partnered with Nevco and Sign of the Times with supplying and integrating TriCaster 440 video switcher, Sony cameras and wireless video transmission in 2016 to upgrade the PAC facility.
In 2018, the University of Saskatchewan embarked on building a new sporting facility to replace the aging Rutherford arena, the University of Saskatchewan once again reach out to our team to bring the latest technology to the Merlis Belsher Arena.
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies purchased 4 Sony HXR-NX5 cameras and our team found the TriCaster Live Sports 460 Solution (TriCaster 460 and 3Play 425) to be the perfect solution for their application. The TriCaster Live Sports 460 Solution offered the U of S broadcast team an entirely different dimension of production capabilities. The multi-camera configuration enriched the overall fan base live sports experience with its ability to access multiple camera angles along with video record/playback and real-time graphics.
The TriCaster Live Sports 460 Solution also allows the University to stream to multiple destinations on the internet. This expands viewership and builds loyalty. Sometimes parents are unable to make events, family members live across either the province or even globe, and alumni like to keep the spirit alive. Streaming to the internet brings the game right into their homes, allowing viewers to never miss a moment.
Live streaming also presented the University an option for increased revenue streams. This includes in-game sponsorships, local commercial opportunities, broadcast specific elements, and more.
This project also went beyond the control room. Matrix took their expertise to the entrance, providing new Sony screens for digital signage. 5 portrait mounted screens line the kiosks - displaying all of the pricing and options for admission. Matrix created dynamic content for the entryways focused on highlighting the Huskies valued sponsors.
